Craven House ready for the Prudential RideLondon

Lucy Schiel July 21, 2016

With the Tour de France now complete for another year, we turn our thoughts to the next cycle meet – the Prudential RideLondon event which is being held in London next weekend, 30-31 July.

RideLondon is the world’s greatest festival of cycling and this year returns with six events over three days. There is no other closed-road event like it that combines the fun and accessible element of a free family ride in central London with the excitement of watching the world’s best professional cyclists race. RideLondon
One of the races is the Surrey 100, which offers enthusiastic amateurs the chance to race on closed roads over iconic parts of the 2012 Olympic road-race and time-trial courses, including Box Hill and Hampton Court.

Whether you are cheering on Tour heroes or supporting friends in the amateur ride, there is nowhere more convenient than Hampton Court – the course goes right past Craven House before heading over Hampton Court Bridge and out into Surrey. And you can stroll over Bushy Park top catch the peloton a second time on the way back into London in Kingston-upon-Thames. In the Surrey 100, Hampton Court is an important spot, as it is a “hub” – feed zone, drinks station, mechanical pits and comfort break location! – so it will be where time is gained and lost.
We’ll be hanging out of the windows of Craven House to watch the cyclists fly by as well as walking over to Hampton Court village to soak up the atmosphere. And, if you can’t join us this year, talk to us about coming along in 2017!
