Doing a whole lot of delicious nothing, nipping out for an afternoon stroll, or perhaps an evening at the theatre, whatever your preference, to help you plan ahead, we’ve gathered up some ways to make a romantic stay in South London truly memorable. So read on to get started…

Dinner out

There is no cliché to a decadent dinner out, and don’t get us started on the joy of not having to be the one doing the cleaning up afterwards. At Craven House we’re lucky enough to be sandwiched between some delightful dinner options, so take your pick! We recommend Le Petit Nantais if you’re after a stylish French Bistro, or perhaps The Tudor Room in Egham, or The Ivy in Cobham is more your style? Please let us know if we can assist you with booking somewhere.

Dinner In

Food always tastes better when someone else has cooked it. If you’re after a quiet, cosy evening, then what about dinner in? If you’re staying with us here at Craven House let us know what you’re thinking and we can organise to get your dinner delivered, or have it waiting when you arrive. And don’t worry, we won’t forget to chill the champagne.

Gifts and spoilings

Romantic weekends are not complete with out a bit of spoiling. We can pick up flowers from our local florist or a special piece of jewellery from Joulberry and have it waiting for your arrival. Please get in touch so we can chat about how to create a special weekend for you.

A spot of theatre

Why not treat yourselves to an evening of culture? You don’t even have to trek to the West End. A quick dart up to Kingston and you’ll find The Rose Theatre – the largest producing theatre in South West London. If nothing on their bill takes your fancy then take a look at The New Wimbledon Theatre – home of musicals, comedy and ballet.

What is a relaxing, romantic weekend away without a lazy brunch? Take a wander to Henry’s Kitchen for a stack of homemade blueberry pancakes, or stop in at Powers in Weybridge for their delicious Full Breakfast. We are spoilt for choice when it comes to cafes in South London and we have plenty of recommendations if you need them.

South London Brunch

A breezy walk

One thing we’re not short of in South London is beautiful walks and picnic spots. Every season boasts a new flower in bloom and the snowdrops at Polesden Lacey and Winkworth Arboretum are not to be missed in February. A casual stroll around Virginia Water Lake, complete with a warming drink at the Savill Garden Kitchen is lovely way to spend a slow morning.

Indulge in a bit of vino

For something a little different, head to Denbies Wine Estate, one of the largest wine producers in the UK. The Wine & Food Tasting Experience is just the thing for a romantic evening out.

A spa day

Is there anything more indulgent than a spa day? With In Harmony on our doorstep and Pennyhill Park spa and The Coach House Spa at Beaverbrook just a short drive away, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to destinations. Book in for massages or facials and enjoy a day of pampering.

However you choose to spend your time in South London, I hope that it’s a relaxing, rejuvenating stay. And please do get in touch if there is anything I and my team can do to make your stay extra special.

I look forward to welcoming you to Craven House,
All the best,

Lucy sig
