Craven House are always happy to welcome your furry friends in our dog friendly apartments. Dogs play an important role in our family and we are delighted to be able to have yours to stay too. We know this is especially important for those of you staying with us whilst you are house hunting, or while your home is undergoing renovations.
With stone floors, leather sofas and access to lovely gardens from some of the apartments, we’ve worked hard to make Craven House as dog friendly as possible. Our area is particularly lovely for dogs and their humans and we’ve rounded up some of our favourite spots for you and your pup to enjoy:
EATS
Paws for Coffee, Hampton
This little gem of a coffee spot boasts two menus – one for people and one for their four-legged friends. It’s a pleasant walk across the park from Craven House and more than dog-friendly.
Coppernose Cafe
One of our favourite local cafes, you’re dog is welcome in the Coppernose and with both indoor and outdoor seating available, it’s an easy choice whatever the weather. Ideal for light lunch, coffee and cakes whilst people watching palace visitors. Stop by for a light lunch, quality coffee, and a tempting selection of cakes — and enjoy a little people-watching as visitors make their way to the nearby palace.
The Mute Swan
Right opposite the Hampton Court Palace gates sits The Mute Swan, a cosy pub with roaring fire in the winter that welcomes dogs on the ground floor.
WALKS
Bushy Park
Since Craven House is perched on the edge of Bushy Park it goes without saying that this is a prime spot to walk your dog. However, please keep in mind that it is also home to large herds of deer and you will need to keep your dogs on a lead during mating season which is May to August.

River Thames Tow Path
The walk along the river is a really lovely one and a good stretch for dogs to run about. You can even walk all the way to Richmond from Hampton Court in about an hour and a half.

Esher Common
A short drive to Esher and you’ll find Esher Common, a mixture of woodland and heath with a number of ponds and paved paths and home to many a walking hound. The Wheat Sheaf pub is close by and happy to welcome your dogs.

The Devil’s Punchbowl
If you fancy something a bit further afield head to the Devil’s Punchbowl for a dog friendly circular walk in Hindhead with lovely views over Surrey.
BOATING THE THAMES
Now we know a boat is probably not the first thing that comes to mind when you are thinking of a day out with your pup but here are a few options that you might want to consider. Go Boat Kingston gives you the chance to skipper your own electric boat from Kingston, so you can explore the Thames towards Molesley Lock, past the front of Hampton Court Palace, or in the other direction towards Teddington. And Turks Launches sails riverboats between Richmond, Hampton Court, Kingston and back. You could walk along the tow path to Richmond and hop on the boat back. Both Go Boat Kingston and Turks Launches welcome dogs.
DOG GROOMERS AND WALKERS
The Pet Club
Look no further than The Pet Club for all your grooming needs. Plus, it’s just down the road from us.
Dog walkers
If you need someone else to walk your pup while you work we have several services nearby, including waggleandpurr.co.uk
If there’s anything we can do ahead of your arrival to make your stay more comfortable, please don’t hesitate to let us know. We’re more than happy to pick up your preferred dog food or any other supplies you might need—just drop us an email or give us a call.
We look forward to welcoming you, and your pets, to Craven House apartments.
