We often welcome guests who are in the midst of renovations, or just about to embark on a house project. Our cosy apartments provide the perfect set up while your real home undergoes its transformation. Your commute might look slightly different, but staying local means there won’t be too much disruption to your routine and you’ll be close at hand if you need to pop down to your building site to take a look at the progress.

Running serviced apartments for many years has given us a book of great contractors and companies who we can highly recommend. Not only that, but we’re truly spoiled for choice when it comes to interior and decor stores in Surrey. Here are a few of our top picks for everything from gardens and pools to tiles and interior designers.

The Handyman

There will always be those niggling little bits that need doing, even when you’re not completing a large renovation. Keith Pellowe is the handy man for the job! Having used him regularly at Craven House we can assure you that the service we received has always been top notch.

Heating, Plumbing & Pool Renovations

With 15 years experience, the guys at pH7 know their stuff. If you’re after anything related to swimming pools, bathrooms, heating and plumbing then look no further – everything you need is right here.

Renovations - Laura Rose Barfield Interior Design

Interior Design

Laura Rose Barfield has turned 20 years experience in high end fashion dressing for superstars like Beyone, Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian into a successful interior design business with a focus on well balanced and luxurious interiors. From revamping existing rooms or updating your kitchen to completely renovating your home, Laura Rose Barfield Interiors offer a range of different packages to guide you through the process.

Tiles

Pop on down to Claygate Ceramic’s beautiful showroom on the Parade in Claygate. After you’ve had a good browse, remember to take home some samples of the tiles you are eyeing so you can see how they would look in the space you have in mind. Light plays a big part in how the finished product will look so remember to observe them in location at different times of the day before you make your final decision.

Renovations - Sofas and Stuff in Walton On Thames

Furniture, Decor & Finishing Touches For Your Renovations

A short drive away in Walton-on-Thames you’ll find a Sofas and Stuff showroom packed full of sofas, beds, armchairs, mattresses and more. When choosing fabric samples the feel is as important as the look so browsing in person is an absolute must. Weybridge is home to Neptune which along with doing truly beautiful homeware, furnishing and finishes, runs regular workshops and events.

Alternatively Kingston, which is a short stroll from the apartments boasts the usual homeware stores – John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, The White Company, Anthropologie and Heals. If you fancy a day outing why not head off to Guildford and browse LoafBarker and Stonehouse and Oka? You don’t have to go far to find beautiful pieces.

Antiques

If you’re after something a bit more unique then pay a visit to the antique stores in Hampton Court, on Bridge Road. We’re also lucky to have one of the best antique markets in the country happening just down the road every two months. The Sunbury Antiques Market can be found at Sandown Racecourse in Esher. Pop over to Gail’s on the high street for a bite to eat after your shopping.

Garden Renovations - Hampton Court Garden Festival 2023

Garden Renovations

It goes without saying that the Hampton Court Garden Festival is just the spot to pick up garden inspiration. If you’ve got landscaping on your to-do list for this year then you can’t go wrong with a visit to the Palace when it’s hosting the Festival.

The Garden Festival occurs only once a year. So, if you’ve missed it this time around, consider heading to the garden shop at Wisley or Garson’s in Esher for your gardening fix.

Lighting & Curtains

Back to Weybridge, and we’ve got the Home Library ready and waiting to solve all your window dressing and lighting problems. If you’re looking for statement lighting or furniture, it’s worth popping into Roche-Bobois in Walton-on-Thames; they’re always ready to help.

Well, that should be enough to get you started! Home renovations can be both exciting and very stressful. You don’t need to add anything else to your to-do list, so we work hard to make sure we can offer you a warm and luxurious place to call home whilst yours is being worked on. We’re happy for you to bring your furry family members along, too. This means you won’t need to worry about finding boarding for them. Craven House is a home-away-from-home setting, and if there’s anything we can do to make your stay, and your renovation easier, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
